Carlos Falco heads the FERRERE Real Estate services team. His practice focuses primarily on advice on real estate transactions and includes involvement in agribusinesses and collaboration on litigation in the real estate area.
His current activity focuses on advising on legal structuring and financing of Uruguay’s largest residential condominium venture, as well as advice on acquisitions of the first REIT (real estate investment trust) in Uruguay. He also advises foreign investors on major residential developments in Punta del Este.
Falco likewise counsels on large-scale corporate financings. In this area he participated on a guaranty transaction for international banks involving 118,000 hectares of farm land in Uruguay, in the context of an international loan, as well as international investment fund financing for one of Uruguay’s most important farm ventures involving over 85,000 hectares of farm operations, and in local guarantee transactions for bond issues in other jurisdictions.
He has experience in renewable energies and participated in counseling wind parks, as well as in advice to mining companies.
He teaches Legal Structuring in the Real Estate Transactions Specialization program at Universidad ORT (Uruguay).
