José Rivero

José Rivero is a member of FERRERE’s Banking & Finance and Company Law & Corporate Governance teams in Bolivia, and specializes in corporate and financial advice to local and international clients.

In the corporate area José has experience in company organization, corporate governance and general administrative matters. In parallel, he has broad experience in due diligence procedures for implementing complex corporate transactions, such as company acquisitions, restructurings, wind-ups and liquidation.

In the regulatory-financial area, José has broad experience in financial structuring, preparation of legal guides and legal-financial analyses for investment transactions in Bolivia and financial product placements. He also has experience advising on insurance and reinsurance and on registration of passive reinsurance providers with the Pension and Insurance Authority (APS) for foreign reinsurance and insurance brokers.

In the commercial area he participates regularly in drafting and revising commercial contracts, primarily agreements with cross-border impact, as well as civil contracts for rights and obligations.

Before joining FERRERE, he worked as associate with an important national law firm, where he was a member of the corporate department, providing legal advice on corporate governance, M&A and commercial agreements.

José graduated as attorney from Universidad Privada de Santa Cruz de la Sierra (Bolivia), specializing in corporate and financial law. He holds a diploma in Commercial and Financial Law from Universidad NUR.
