Federico Lemos has almost a decade of experience in the Banking and Finance area of FERRERE. He is a specialist in capital markets, banking regulation and project financing. His practice also covers complex matters of commercial and corporate law in general and agribusiness transactions.
He regularly advises some of the market’s most prominent financial institutions such as J.P. Morgan, UBS, Deutsche Bank, Scotiabank, Credit Agricole, Credit Suisse and EFG among others, as well as multilateral banks such as the Inter-American Development Bank and the Development Bank of Latin America.
In the capital markets field, he advised on the bulk of the local IPOs completed in recent years, either as a structuring advisor or counseling institutional investors, and even leading several of those transactions.
He collaborated with the Central Bank of Uruguay on the redesign of all the regulations applicable to financial institutions, insurance companies, pension funds and capital markets.
He has been recognized by prestigious international publications such as Chambers & Partners, Legal 500 and IFLR for his outstanding performance in the area of Banking and Finance.
He is a professor of the financial investment graduate course at ORT University and was a professor of Contracts at the Law School of Universidad de Montevideo from 2014 to 2019. He has published several papers related to his practice area.
