FERRERE advised Itaú on the acquisition of a 40% stake in Handy, one of the country’s fastest growing fintechs.

Specifically, FERRERE was responsible for conducting the Hardy due diligence process, with a multidisciplinary team headed up by the partner Geraldine Ifrán and including, among other practitioners, Martín Pesce, Federico Lemos, Cristina Vignone, Carla Arellano, Clara Porro, Cecilia Trujillo and María Eugenia Contreras.

The transaction, signed at the end of October and subject to approval by regulators in Brazil and Uruguay, is part of the bank’s digital inclusion strategy, geared to dynamizing access to banking and financial opportunities for companies throughout the country.
