FERRERE advised Emergent Cold on a second acquisition this year. This transaction included one cold storage facility in Uruguay and another in Paraguay. Together, the facilities are approximately four times bigger than those acquired by Emergent Cold from Polo Logístico de Frío (PLF) at the outset of this year.

With these acquisitions, Emergent Cold is seeking to strengthen and expand its presence in Latin America, with the goal of becoming the chief actor in the cold storage logistics sector.

Closing of the transaction is subject to conditions and is expected to occur early next year.

According to Emergent Cold’s CEO for Latin America, Neal Rider, “the addition of Paraguay and the expansion of our footprint in Uruguay will strengthen our services portfolio in the region, which includes storage and transport.”

FERRERE’s advice was provided by teams in Uruguay and Paraguay, led by the partners Santiago Fontana and Carlos Vasconsellos, respectively. They were accompanied by a strong team of professionals in both jurisdictions: Cristina Vignone, Clara Porro, Laura Oliveros, María Eugenia Contreras, Florencia Fitipaldo, Cecilia Alberti, Sofía Vidal and Micaela Franco (in Uruguay), and Claudia Arietti, Montserrat Puente, Erika Bañuelos, Kenzo Fuchiwaki, Yamina Centurión, Magalí Fernández Armoa, Antonella Llamas, Marcelo Rodríguez, Cynthia Sanabria and Melissa Rojas (in Paraguay).
