Diego Tamayo

Diego Tamayo is a member of FERRERE’s Corporate team in Bolivia. He leads business advisory initiatives with a focus on sustainability, diversity, and social impact.

His practice focuses on corporate and commercial advisory to local and multinational companies across various sectors. He plays a key role in the structuring of corporate operations, company organizations and reorganizations, legal due diligence processes, and the negotiation of complex commercial contracts. At the firm, he manages a broad client portfolio and has been appointed in-house counsel for one of the firm’s largest global clients, where he coordinates corporate, regulatory, and commercial legal matters.

He has transversal experience in regulatory analysis related to diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI), advising companies on the implementation of responsible and sustainable corporate practices. His approach bridges corporate law and international human rights standards, particularly in matters of governance, ESG, and inclusive business management.

Since 2022, he has led the firm’s pro bono practice in Bolivia and coordinates the social impact initiatives of the FERRERE Transforma program in the country. In this role, he advises non-profit organizations and foundations and actively promotes projects with a focus on inclusion and sustainability.

In 2023, he was awarded “Diversity and Inclusion: Future Leader” at the Chambers Latin America Awards. This distinction is granted annually to a single lawyer in all of Latin America.

He taught Sociology of Law at Universidad Privada Boliviana (UPB) for two years and has led editorial and legislative projects in his role as Director of Juventud Empresa for the 2025–2027 term, including co-authoring the “Entrepreneur’s Guide” and promoting legal frameworks that foster a favorable business environment.

He holds a law degree with honors from Universidad Privada de Santa Cruz de la Sierra (UPSA). Diego was awarded a full scholarship by Fundación Carolina to pursue a Master’s Degree in Legal and Social Protection of Vulnerable Persons and Groups at the University of Cádiz (Spain), where he also completed an internship at the Andalusian Observatory on Sex-Gender Diversity, Health, and Citizenship (DIVERSACI). Additionally, he holds a postgraduate degree in Higher Education and University Pedagogy from Universidad Privada Cumbre.
