The FERRERE Paraguay family business team, consisting of partner Carlos Vasconsellos, senior associate Maurizio De Oliveira, and associate Fernanda Benítez, advised and accompanied the Cazal Britos family on the process of preparing and executing the instrument that will govern this business family’s relations, known as a “family protocol.”

The Cazal Britos family owns the recognized construction industry company Proyec S.A.E. This highly specialized company has been operating in the market since 1987 and is active in the field of leasing, sale and repair of large, medium and small scale machinery for roadbuilding and civil construction.

The family protocol’s purpose is to establish guidelines for the process of professionalization, development and growth of the family business, in line with the needs of each business family. Moreover, the family protocol seeks to preserve family and business relations, establishing mechanisms that accompany the process of generational transition and passing along the family history and business values to the following generations.

FERRERE’s approach in this practice guarantees a document designed and tailored to each business family, facilitating channels for dialogue to address both family and business issues, and recommending best practices that can help each business family reach its goals and, above all, transcend over time, generation after generation.

Additionally, FERRERE offers advice on implementation of certain agreements reached within the family protocol, which relate to amendment of company bylaws, preparation and signature of shareholder agreements, etc.

Upon completion of the process, Osvaldo Cazal, co-founder of Proyec S.A.E., noted: “We are very pleased with FERRERE’S advice and guidance.” In turn, Rodrigo Cazal, current general manager of Proyec S.A.E., said: “This protocol will be another tool for reaching our business objectives.”
