An extensive team of FERRERE and other law firms in Japan, Argentina, the United States, Brazil and Mexico, led by Santiago Fontana and Manuel Lecuona at FERRERE in Uruguay, advised Globant on the acquisition of the Uruguayan GeneXus.

With this deal Globant, an organization focusing on business reinvention by application of innovative technological solutions and with over 23,500 employees in 18 countries, became “one of the first leading digital players to invest in a low-code platform to propel business transformation,” as the deal’s announcement notes.

The announcement underscores that the acquisition of “GeneXus will also strengthen the offering of Globant X, a dedicated group in charge of productizing the Company’s most transformative tech into scalable platforms.”

GeneXus, in turn, has been in the market for over 30 years and is used by more than 1,700 companies in Latin America and Asia. Locally, it recently developed the CoronavirusUY app and the online vaccine scheduling system.

The FERRERE team included Clara Porro, Bruno Bertolotti, Alejandro Alterwain, Cecilia Alberti, Giselle Cardoso, Stella Weng, Ma. Eugenia Contreras and María Victoria Costa.
