The FERRERE Bolivia attorney, Diego Tamayo, was recognized as "Future Leader" for his work in the area of Diversity and Inclusion, in the Chambers Latin America Awards 2023.

Standing out among the projects he heads up, in his role as leader of the firm’s pro bono program in Bolivia, are his efforts with the Enseña Por Bolivia foundation, devoted to recruiting and training schoolteachers who, in turn, will be agents of social change, supporting education in rural areas, where average schooling is two years (in urban areas the average is 14 years). This project is working in six municipalities in Bolivia, directly and indirectly benefitting over 4,000 children.

In turn, he works as coordinator of the FERRERE Transforma program with numerous regional organizations focusing on these issues. He is also an academic referent on the subject and is frequently invited to provide training on Human Rights in a broad sense.

Internally, Diego has advanced the waste classification system and generated different training and awareness building activities on key dates, such as International Women’s Day, World Down Syndrome Day, and LGTBQA+ Pride Month.

Regarding this recognition, Diego said that “this award is a personal honor, but it also collective, because it represents the commitment all of us have at FERRERE to making a positive impact both inside and outside the office. We’re on the right track, we celebrate that, and we want this to drive us to achieve even better results: to be ever more diverse, inclusive and environmentally friendly.”
