FERRERE’s managing partner has been made chairman of the board of directors at the Uruguayan branch of Endeavor, a New York-based non-profit that seeks to foster high-impact entrepreneurship in emerging economies.

Andrés Cerisola’s appointment was announced on 3 September at Endeavor’s annual gala dinner in Montevideo. Cerisola previously held the post of vice-chair, which he says has helped prepare him for the new role. As chairman, Cerisola will work with the organisation’s managing director and board to carry out the international organisation’s policy on a local scale.

Endeavor provides training and support to individuals who are thought to be well-positioned to build businesses and propagate wealth in developing countries. The organisation claims its entrepreneurs generated revenues worth US$6.5 billion last year, and that they have created over 400,000 jobs since it was founded in 1997.

“Endeavor has become, under my predecessor Gabriel Rozman’s leadership, the most reputed and well-known business network in Uruguay, and I intend to build on the impressive achievements he produced,” says Cerisola, who expresses admiration for the organisation’s entrepreneurial methodology.
