The Bolivian government announced plans to invest USD 2 billion in the construction of plants for smelting and refining minerals, primarily zinc, in La Paz, Oruro and Potosí.

The 2015 year closed with an investment of USD 160 million in this sector, and a total of USD 618 million is planned to be invested through 2018.

In this context, in the coming days an award is expected on the Mutún project (the country’s most relevant project in connection with minerals), in southeastern Santa Cruz.
