On July 18, 2022, the Executive Branch signed into force Law Nº 6919/2022, which modifies several articles of Law N° 5033/2013, which regulates Article 104 of the National Constitution, in respect of sworn affidavits of income, assets and liabilities of public employees, and repeals Law N° 6355/2019.

This new law expressly repeals, in its entirety, the much-questioned Law 6355/2019, which required any party participating in a public bidding process to present and update sworn affidavits declaring their income, assets, and liabilities (which mirrored the information requirements for public employees). The now repealed law extended this requirement to shareholders, directors, managing partners, or similar authorities of companies and entities that were government contractors or concessionaires.

This requirement is eliminated as of the date of the new law and, therefore, companies wishing to bid on government contracts and their shareholders, directors, and managing authorities are no longer required to file or update sworn affidavits disclosing their financial information.
