FERRERE advised Heinzel Holding GmbH, the Austrian pulp and paper industry leader, on its first equity investment in Latin America. Under the deal, Heinzel, which has production plants in Austria, Germany and Estonia, as well as an important global sales network specializing in emerging markets, signed an investment agreement with Paracel S.A. and its shareholders, whereby it will acquire 25% of Paracel S.A. shares at project completion.

Paracel S.A. is a Paraguayan company, established in 2018, whose purpose is to construct, develop, own and operate a greenfield Bleached Eucalyptus Kraft pulp (BEK) plant in the region of Concepción (Paraguay), for annual production of 1.9 million metric tons of Eucalyptus pulp.

FERRERE worked with Heinzel on the due diligence process and all aspects of the transaction involving Paraguayan laws and regulations relating to its equity investment in Paracel S.A. Ferrere also handled coordination and execution of the deal closing.
