On December 1, 2020, in Resolution No. 710/20, the National Civil Aviation Office of Paraguay (DINAC) authorized Eastern Airlines LLC (“Eastern”) to operate regularly in the country. Eastern is a United States airline founded in 2010 that operates with Boeing 767 aircraft.

This will be the launch of regular international passenger, cargo and mail air transport services on the MIAMI/ASUNCIÓN/MIAMI route. Flights will be direct and nonstop, with a frequency of three times a week as of January 2, 2021. With this, direct connectivity between Miami and Asunción –that had been cut off since 2015- will be reinstated.

In light of the COVID-19 pandemic, operations are subject to the sanitary conditions required by the Paraguayan Government and the country’s Ministry of Public Health and Social Welfare.

The FERRERE Paraguay team, headed up by the partner Verónica Franco, provided advice to Eastern and carried out the pertinent procedures with DINAC to obtain the permit. FERRERE is also making arrangements to organize a branch of the airline in Paraguay.

In addition to Franco, a large team of associates also worked on the matter, including Fernanda Benítez, María Belén Rodríguez, Alejandra Aguilar, Yamina Centurión and Alejandra Guanes.
