The Government of Bolivia, in Supreme Decree No. 5503, established additional holidays, along with date changes for existing ones, for the 2026 year, aimed at promoting economic activity and domestic tourism by creating long weekends.
The decree includes the following provisions:
Additional national holidays
- Friday, July 5, is added to the Corpus Christi holiday on Thursday, June 4.
- Friday, August 7, is added to the Bolivian Independence Day holiday on Thursday, August 6.
National holiday date changes
- The Day of Creation of the Plurinational State of Bolivia holiday is moved from Thursday, January 22 to Friday, January 23.
- The Andean, Amazon and Chaco New Year holiday is moved from Sunday, June 21 to Monday, June 22.
