Ignacio Mera

Ignacio is part of the Corporate department of FERRERE, dedicated to civil and commercial law, with emphasis on maritime and regulatory law.

His current practice focuses on advising on corporate, regulatory and administrative matters related to the daily activities of local and foreign companies. He is mainly engaged in the drafting and review of general commercial and river transportation contracts (in its various modalities, both bareboat, participation in freight, among others), response to regulatory inquiries, management of vessel documentation, processes for obtaining a flag and its extensions.

Also, Ignacio has transactional experience. Since joining FERRERE, he has participated in mergers and acquisitions projects of companies in the logistics sector (mainly river and port companies), which gives him a thorough knowledge of the regulatory aspects of the river logistics business.

Prior to joining FERRERE, Ignacio practiced law at a corporate firm. Previously, he was an intern at the Paraguayan Court of Justice, where he served as a legal assistant in several areas, ranging from human rights and criminal law, to civil, commercial and administrative areas.
