The FERRERE Arbitration team lawyer, Raquel Molina, was recognized as Latin America Rising Star of the Year in Arbitration, in the context of the Women in Business Law Awards 2026, becoming the first Bolivian lawyer to receive a distinction at this event.

Raquel specializes in litigation, arbitration and administrative law, and has experience with international firms and in academia. She has participated in domestic arbitrations, including witness and expert preparation, as well as in negotiations with state-owned companies. She has experience advising domestic and international companies in diverse activity sectors, including gas & oil, construction, insurance and finance.

In the academic sphere, Raquel is adjunct professor at Universidad Privada Boliviana, where has taught courses in Administrative Law and Private International Law. She has also been assistant trainer for the Willem C. Vis International Commercial Arbitration Moot.

Raquel holds a degree in Law from Universidad Católica Boliviana “San Pablo” and an LL.M. in US Law from the University of Cincinnati. She was awarded the prestigious Fulbright grant for a project on transparency in international arbitration.

Raquel has published in the Kluwer Arbitration Blog, The Legal Industry Review (LIR) Bolivia, and in Revista Digital Arbitraje Alumni, on key issues in dispute resolution. She was also general editor of the UCB Law Review. She is cofounder of BOLIVYAP (Bolivia Very Young Arbitration Practitioners), an initiative fostering arbitration among young lawyers.

In the context of these awards, FERRERE partner Geraldine Ifrán was recognized as Latin America Insurance & Reinsurance Lawyer of the Year.

The Women in Business Law Awards recognize the achievements of the top women lawyers in the Americas, as well as the firms undertaking the best initiatives and actions to address gender diversity.

These recognitions are awarded in association with several of the most renowned international publications, including International Financial Law Review (IFLR), International Tax Review (ITR) and Managing IP.
