CCR’s latest acquisition closed on 10 September and saw the company pay Brazilian conglomerate Andrade Gutierrez US$50 million for a 48.75 per cent share in Aeris Holding Costa Rica, the concessionaire responsible for operating Juan Santamaría international airport.

Uruguay’s Ferrere also advised the committee on the Ecuadorean leg of the deal due to the involvement of Uruguayan corporations acting as holding entities for Corporación Quiport.

The acquisitions could also lead to further expansion by CCR into Latin America’s airport infrastructure sector by allowing the company to compete in international biddings as a qualified international airport operator, as well as participate in Brazilian bidding rounds as a Brazilian competitor.
