On June 27th, 2023, the Americas Society/Council of the Americas (AS/COA) Think Tank, in coordination and together with the consulting firm Control Risk, released an index on the Capacity to Fight Corruption. The report was prepared based on an analysis and evaluation of 15 Latin American countries, including Bolivia. The evaluation consisted on assessing the capacity to "detect, punish and prevent corruption".

According to the index, Bolivia is among the three worst countries, with a score of 2.56 out of 10, continuing in the same position since the last evaluation, which was carried out in 2020. Analysts noted that anti-corruption efforts continue to face obstacles and that corruption is a challenge for all countries. However, in Bolivia it is an issue that alarms both its government and its population.
