Since 2011, February 8 of each year has been declared the National Day of Transparency and Fight Against Corruption, by means of Supreme Decree No. 785 dated February 2, 2011.

This year, the President of the Plurinational State of Bolivia, Héctor Arce, stated that the fight against corruption is a pillar of the Government and that transparency is being promoted from the central level, with state purchases through electronic auctions, among other measures.

Based on this, the Minister of Economy and Public Finances stated before the press that, in its first year of enforceability, the electronic auction led to savings totaling 295 Million Bolivianos (more than 42 Million Dollars), besides reminding that this measure was extended with the purpose of promoting transparency in the contractual processes and generating greater competitiveness among suppliers.
