Ferrere has represented Northstar in Bolivia since 2010 - when it helped the bank provide a loan to Santa Cruz-based electricity provider Empresa Electrica Guaracachi for the purchase of energy generating equipment. The firm also advises Northstar on its operations in Uruguay.
Partner Cristian Bustos says the four loans reflect “significant growth in the local industry”, adding that structuring the guarantees was the greatest challenge as the lawyers had to familiarise themselves with the large industrial equipment being purchased in order to set-up very specific guarantees.
