The FERRERE Corporate and Mergers & Acquisitions team attorney, Clara Poro, was recognized as Rising Star of the Year by International Financial Law Review (IFLR), a top international legal publication.
The recognition, granted in the context of the IFLR Americas Awards 2025, highlights Clara as the region’s most promising young attorney over the past year, and underscores her participation in key transactions in the Uruguayan legal market:
- The acquisition of Totalnet, the country’s largest credit and debit card payments processor, by Minsait.
- The sale of 80% of the shares of Mar Austral to Frigorífico Modelo.
- The acquisition by Mill Point Capital of the shares of Imbera Uruguay S.A., in the context of an international acquisition of diverse FEMSA businesses.
In addition to the deals noted by the publication, in recent years Clara has participated on teams leading highly relevant transactions, including:
- Acquisition and subsequent sale by the Japanese company Nipponham (NH Foods) of Breeders & Packers Uruguay’s meat packing plant.
- Acquisition of Redpagos by Prosegur.
- Acquisition of two insulated panel manufacturing plants (Bromyros and Montfrío) by Kingspan.
- Acquisition of Genexus by Globant.
- Acquisition by Emergent Cold of two cold storage facilities.
During this ceremony, IFLR once again recognized FERRERE as Firm of the Year in Uruguay, as in 2020, 2021 and 2022.

She regularly advises local and international companies such as Foresun Group, JCDecaux, Diagnósticos da América, NH Food, Emergent Cold, Kingspan, Prosegur, Globant, Lacoste, Fanacif, Puma and Edenred, both on their day-to-day activities and on project development and foreign investment
Porro has also participated in government procurement projects, advising foreign companies planning to invest in Uruguay in public-private partnerships, as well as public tenders.
She obtained her degree as attorney from Universidad de Montevideo (Uruguay) in 2016. She is currently an instructor in Commercial Contract Law at Universidad de Montevideo.
