Paola Gachet is a FERRERE partner in Ecuador and handles cases involving complex negotiations with the government, as well as definition of business strategies. She participates on matters requiring high sensitivity and attention to detail in decision making, ranging from execution of contracts with the State, analyzing business reorganization or changes in business. She directs teams handling public contracting and migration issues, and collaborates with the tax and transfer pricing department.
In her professional practice she is highly versatile in handling situations in the public and private spheres, both in specific cases and in assisting committees supporting drafting of regulations for the government.
She has acted as lead attorney on various emblematic infrastructure projects such as construction of the new Quito airport, various electrical energy projects, renovation of refineries, and support to private consultants and to government enterprises contracting with the Ecuadorian State.
Paola has also collaborated with national nonprofit entities and international NGOs in their relations with the government. In this practice she advised an NGO that supported acquisition by the Achuar Nation of Ecuador of a tourism project in the eastern area of the country, and is currently leading development of the Ecuador chapter of the International Fiscal Association.
She has collaborated with the American Bar Association on the Ecuador chapters of its guides.
She was professor of Company Law at Universidad Internacional del Ecuador during 2008 and 2009.
