María Teresa Borja

María Teresa Borja is an expert in mining matters, joint ventures, arbitration, civil and commercial contracts, and energy law.

Maria Teresa is an associate at FERRERE’s Ecuador office and member of the Arbitration, Mining, Oil Industry and Administrative Law groups. She has broad experience in mining matters, joint ventures, international investment arbitration, local arbitration, civil and commercial agreements, and energy law.

Prior joining to FERRERE Ecuador, Maria Teresa began her practice at the law firm Andrade Veloz Abogados, where she was a junior associate on the teams of Arbitration, Corporate Law, and Administrative Law. She also worked in-house at two major multinational mining companies.

Maria Teresa was part of the defense team at the Office of the Attorney General of Ecuador on some of the most transcendent cases of international investment law filed against the State.
