His professional practice focuses on natural resource regulatory matters, with emphasis on energy and oil, in both public and private sectors. He also has experience in administrative law, judicial representation and financial regulatory law.
Before engaging in graduate studies he worked at the Central Bank of Ecuador (BCE), with the Institutional Legal Representation and Enforcement Office, first as attorney and then as Director of the office. Earlier, he was an attorney with the Ecuador’s largest upstream operating company, Petroamazonas EP (NOC), where his work centered on corporate matters and special contract coordination and on coordination of institutional legal representation.
He also worked with a recognized Ecuadorian firm as in-house counsel assigned to a private operating company and another oil services company, both belonging to a well-known international business group. He also interned with Dr. José Julio Benítez A., a prestigious former Administrative Judge of the Supreme Court of Justice.
In addition to his professional practice he has published on issues related to hydrocarbons, administrative law and fintech.
