Gabriel leads the FERRERE Ecuador Tax area and is a member of the Tax Advice, Tax Consultancy, Tax Litigation, Mergers & Acquisitions, and Administrative Claims & Appeals teams, among others.
He has broad experience in taxes and was an official at the Internal Revenue Service for 14 years, where he held the posts of Assistant Director General for Tax Compliance, National Tax Control Director, National Head for Large Taxpayers and International Revenue, National Head of Tax Audits, National Head of Tax Risks, National Coordinator of Special Taxes and Regulators, Tax Auditor, etc. He also has university teaching experience in the areas of taxes, finance and microeconomics, in addition to participating as occasional trainer at events organized by the Tax Studies Center of the Internal Revenue Service and the Association of Public Accountants of Pichincha.
He has participated in various international conferences representing the country as speaker at events organized by the Inter-American Center of Tax Administrations, foreign tax administrations, the World Health Organization, the Pan American Health Organization, among others. He has broad training and education in national taxation and international taxes, as well as in financial, economic, accounting, legal, asset laundering and border control issues.
He holds a bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, as well as a Master’s in Business Administration (MBA), a Master’s in Tax Administration, and an Advanced Diploma in Marketing Management.
