Felipe Oleas is an expert in Corporate and Commercial Law. Specialist in Administrative law, corporate-commercial litigation, Corporate Criminal Law and negotiations. He was secretary general of the Quito Regional Intendency of the Superintendency of Companies, Securities and Insurance for four years. As an authority at this oversight office he acquired vast experience in public-private regulatory management in the related areas of law. While holding this position he participated actively in the preparation of the entity’s regulations.
Earlier, from 2011 to 2013, he was project manager on the Management Model axis of the Judicial Restructuring Program, where he participated on design of management models now applied in Ecuador’s courts and tribunals, under an oral system, implemented in the General Organic Code of Procedure (COGEP). He was also actively involved in the review of the preliminary project for the Code, supervising the consultancy contracted with the Justice Studies Center of the Americas (JSCA).
His experience in public administration is complemented by his prior experience as a legal specialist with the Financial Intelligence Unit (currently the Financial Analysis Unit) and as assistant district attorney for the Municipality of the Quito Metropolitan District.
In private practice he has been a partner at the law firm of Oleas & Oleas Abogados in the city of Quito, beginning in 2008, in the corporate, civil, commercial and labor litigation and administrative appeal areas.
