Alejandra García

Alejandra García has participated in numerous high-profile foreign investment projects, as well as local and international mergers and acquisitions.

 

Alejandra García is a member of the FERRERE Corporate and Commercial and Mergers and Acquisitions groups. She advises local and international companies on their day-to-day activities as well as on project development and foreign investment.

Alejandra has participated on numerous high-profile investment projects, as well as local and international mergers and acquisitions.

She recently represented, among others, Outfront Media on the acquisition by JCDecaux of its operations in Latin America; Parmalat on acquisition of the Uruguayan subsidiaries of the Mexican dairy company La Esmeralda; Foresun Group, a Chinese company engaged in meat product processing and preparation, on acquisition of Frigorífico Rosario; Affinia Group, an automotive group, on sale of its operations in Uruguay; Syngenta, in the acquisition of Nidera Seeds in Uruguay.

She also assists local and international companies on strategic and corporate issues, including Edenred, a leader in prepaid employee services, Elkem, a leading Norwegian silicone materials producer, Vestas, a global wind energy firm and Fanacif, part of the Fras-Le group, which produces, commercializes and exports autoparts.

From 2007 to 2010 she was a member of the firm’s Company Law and Corporate group.

From 2010 to 2013 she worked with Altisource Portfolio Solutions (Nasdaq: ASPS) - a multinational financial services provider – heading up the Transactions and Contracts division within the company’s global legal department and in charge of Uruguay legal matters, leading the legal team in Uruguay and reporting directly to the Associate General Counsel in the United States.

In 2012 she was an independent consultant to the Montevideo Securities Exchange, for which she prepared a report on legal reform proposals for securities market development in Uruguay. The report was submitted by the Exchange’s Board of Directors to the Securities Market Promotion Commission at the Ministry of Economy.

In 2014 she was a speaker at the 3rd Central Bank Law Seminar’s panel on Electronic Payments, addressing the subject of the effects of bankruptcy on e-money.

She is a member of the International Association of Young Lawyers (AIJA), to which she was appointed as member of the Executive Committee and is a member of the Corporate Acquisitions & Joint Ventures Commission.
