In line with President Tabaré Vázquez’s announcement at the outset of this year on promotion of investments in infrastructure for USD 2.36 billion during his administration, the Ministry of Transportation and Public Works has launched tenders for two public-private participation (PPP) projects for works on national highways numbers 12, 54, 55, 57, bypass in the city of Carmelo, and other work related to routes 9 and 15 in Rocha.

The program will also include other routes during 2016, involving the west tranche of route 14 to Sarandí del Yi and the west tranche of route 26 to the city of Tacuarembó.

A period from today December 21 through January 5 has been opened up for suggestions, and the sale of bidding conditions will begin on January 20.

This announcement is another step toward realization of President Vázquez’s intention, which has recently included award of two PPP projects for rebuilding routes 21 and 24, on which FERRERE acted as advisor to the awardee.
